The CALM Yarn Train the Trainer program

The CALM Yarn workshop is a culturally tailored, one-day suicide intervention training program designed to equip individuals with the essential skills to connect, ask, listen, and monitor those at risk. Developed in partnership with Indigenous Communities, it is designed specifically for those working within Indigenous communities. The program is designed to be delivered or co-delivered by a First Nations trainer.

What You Will Learn

  • Day 1: Delivered face-to-face, the first half of the CALM Yarn one-day program will be presented, offering you a view from a participant's perspective. You will reflect on and receive feedback on the content of the workshop.
  • Day 2: Delivered face-to-face, the second half of the CALM Yarn one-day program will be presented, offering you a view from a participant's perspective. You will reflect on and receive feedback on the content of the workshop.
  • Day 3: Dive deep into the CALM Yarn model. This session will explore the evidence behind the intervention, practice skills, and discuss varying community needs and how best to deliver the program.
  • Day 4: Focus on facilitation styles, skills, and strategies for supporting participants. Discussions will also cover using the website, ordering materials, marketing the program, and preparing individual presentations.

  • Build confidence in delivering CALM Yarn to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.

Price

  • Train the Trainer: 4 days – $3,250 +GST
  • If you require any tailoring to make the program specific to you please get in touch, we do this on a regular basis.
